Unless the province appeals the amendments to Fort Erie’s and the Niagara Region’s Official Plan in the next few weeks to the OMB, the first casualities of the wreckage of the motorway will be good planning in Ontario.
There needs to be a strong demand for such an appeal made to members of the Legislature throughout our region.

PALS (Preservation of Agricultural Lands Society)
The extraordinary rate of urban sprawl over the best lands in Canada, the fruit lands of Niagara led in 1976 to the formation of the Preservation Agricultural Lands Society (P.A.L.S.). Backed by over 800 urban and rural members, P.A.L.S. has worked hard to preserve the land and the agricultural industry of Niagara and to promote food land preservation province and countrywide.

The Niagara Land Trust (NLT) was incorporated in 2008.
Geographic area of focus includes the Niagara Peninsula and its contingent watersheds.
NLT's objective is to protect lands and waters of ecological, agricultural, cultural value through a variety of mechanisms. These include - but are not restricted to - land acquisition, conservation agreements, landscape restoration and education.
